Lillie Rainey
I have extensive experience in pattern drafting and modification and costume recreation. I have created countless costumes and garments out of fabric, metal and leather. I have made and assisted in making several suits of custom leather armor using water-hardening and wax-hardening techniques. I have also made several suits of decorative metal armor including a full reproduction of Xena armor hand cut and hammered out of copper plate. I have won awards at several conventions for costuming. I have extensive experience in creating costumes out of existing garments, and found objects. I have also made several large projects such as tents and pavilions. I have worked with modeling mediums, metal, dental acrylic, plastic, gemstones, foam, wood and paint to make accessories and jewelry. A member of the Society for Creative Anachronism (and one of the few active female fighting squires around), I tend to spend a great deal of time drafting period patterns and creating custom garments from them. I make custom-fit corsets and also teach classes on corset-building.
